Changing the Wi-Fi network on your HomePod is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to ensure your HomePod is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network:

Prerequisites:

Ensure your iPhone or iPad is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want your HomePod to join.

Ensure your HomePod and iOS device are running the latest software version.

Open the Home App:

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Home app. This is the app where you manage your HomeKit accessories.

Select Your HomePod:

In the Home app, locate your HomePod. It will appear as a device within one of your rooms. Tap and hold (or 3D Touch) on the HomePod icon to access its settings.

Check Current Network:

Scroll down to the bottom of the settings screen. You’ll see the Wi-Fi network that your HomePod is currently connected to.

Change Wi-Fi Network:

If your HomePod is connected to a different Wi-Fi network than your iPhone or iPad, you’ll see an option that says “Move HomePod to [Network Name].” Tap on this option to switch the HomePod to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone or iPad.

Confirm the Change:

Follow any additional on-screen prompts to confirm the network change. The HomePod will take a moment to disconnect from the current network and reconnect to the new one.

Wait for Reconnection:

Allow a few moments for the HomePod to connect to the new Wi-Fi network. Once it’s connected, you should see the new network name listed in the HomePod settings.

Verify Connection:

Test the connection by playing music or asking Siri a question. This ensures that the HomePod is properly connected to the new Wi-Fi network.

Troubleshooting:

  • No Option to Change Network: If you don’t see the option to move your HomePod to the new network, make sure your iPhone or iPad is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and try again.
  • Reset HomePod: If you continue to experience issues, you may need to reset your HomePod and set it up again. To reset, press and hold the top of the HomePod until the light turns red and you hear three beeps. Then, set up your HomePod from scratch using the Home app.

By following these steps, you can easily change the Wi-Fi HomePod network on your HomePod and ensure it remains connected for seamless smart home control and music playback.
